This Rest and Recovery for sleep re-Treat will provide you with micro steps and nourishing tools to help you relax, recover and improve your sleep.
Insomnia affects up to a third of the Australian population. Sometimes the harder you try to sleep the more difficult or elusive sleep becomes.
Good quality sleep is essential for health and human performance. Sufficient sleep supports mental, physical and emotional health.
Deep rest and recovery - also known as yoga nidra or non sleep deep rest, has been shown to reduce stress, improve cognitive processing and improve night time sleep. It is like a withdrawal of the senses (pratyahara) technique, that allows the body to relax and help the mind let go so sleep can arrive.
If you can’t make the session it will be recorded for you to watch it any time in the comfort of your own home and space for 4 weeks after the event.
No previous practice is required. The movement will be gentle and modifications offered for those who need it. It is best to wear warm comfortable clothes and have some blankets, a cushion or pillow and somewhere comfortable to lie down for the meditation. You may also want a soft scarf or hand towel to cover the eyes while practicing deep rest.
